X.6016. REDUCED CHARGE FIELD RESISTANCE.

It was decided by actual trial on 23-EX that the resistance unit containing wire as represented by D.72656 gave too much reduction of output. Accordingly we arranged for further trial, three other resistances which, instead of being 3'5" were 2'9", 2'1" and 1'5" respectively working lengths, the steps being 8" each time. Mr.Elliott has for trial on 24-EX resistance units containing these three lengths of Eureka wire but it is not certain at the moment which one of these will be adopted.

It occurred to us you might care to make three more details of these other proposed resistances. It will be our aim to make one only of them standard unless circumstances seem to call for reduced outputs of different amounts according to circumstances remembering that these units can very readily be changed on any chassis.
