To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X4244 E4/M28.2.23. RE. CLUTCHES. X.4244. X.3409 Could you kindly say what is the average rate of measured wear on Goshawk 11. clutches say per 10,000 miles? Referring to the Ferodo fabrics we are familiar with 3 kinds, that which is bonded with brass wire, that which is made of woven asbestos containing no metal bond, and the third kind which we understood was being experimented with made by pressing broken or powered asbestos into solid plates under enormous hydraulic pressure. Could you kindly say if we have tested them to destruction in the Goshawk clutch relative to each other, and if so, with what result. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
