A.{Mr Adams} C. Lidsey.
Accident to 3-Goshawk-11 Car.

I was driving the above car along Uttoxeter Rd., travelling towards town, at about 4-30 p.m. this afternoon. There was a tramcar in front of me travelling in the same direction; I followed this quite slowly until the tram stop at the corner of Curzon Street and Ashbourne Rd. The tram slowed up and stopped, I did the same - while standing there I was bumped into from behind, the force of the impact pushing my car forward into the tram car.

The vehicle behind was a Ford Lorry, registration No. CH.3220 belonging to the Derby Corporation and driven by Bull (licence No.4755) Bull came up to me with a footboard in his hand and stated that owing to the footboard being out of place he was unable to apply his brake and had run into the back of my car.

The near side rear wing on my car was badly bent, the petrol tank dented, also the rear panel of the body; at the front of the car the near side wing was slightly bent through coming into contact with the tramcar. (The tram car moved off almost immediately - I did not get its number.)

A Mr. Handon, address, Franchise Street, Derby gave me his name as a witness.

P.C. 53 on duty at (Curzon St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} corner also will testify to the damage done but he could not have seen the accident as the tramcar was between my car and him.

G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Ratcliffe(assistant tester) was with me at the time.

A.{Mr Adams} C. Lidsey
