xlo134 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA.15.5.33. BENSPORT STARTER MOTOR. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} reports that the starter motor is not sufficiently powerful enough with a mechanical petrol pump for a satisfactory start in icy weather. He is of the opinion that we ought to proceed experimentally with the electrical alterations to the motor as outlined in our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.6/KT.7.2.33. We should be glad if you will reconsider the question and if you are in agreement with our suggestions, arrange for the necessary drawings to be issued to enable us to proceed experimentally. We think it a safe procedure to go ahead experimentally with any scheme which may improve the existing design of motor in case trouble is experienced next Winter.
