By E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Delco Remy Ignition Coil. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/EM.1.12:00 X8710 X8712 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} I was interested to read EPCL/AD24.12.30 relative to the above and the rather unsatisfactory results of the tests of the above coil. I do not, however, feel at all happy about our coil. On referring to the quarterly complaints I find that for the period of 12 months ended 30th September 1930 there has been a total of 234 failures which have necessitated repairs or replacements free of charge. These are divided as follows:- 20 HP............98. 25HP............ 2. Phantom I.........130 Phantom II........ 4 It will be observed from the above that the majority of the failures were on 20's and Phantom I's and I should be glad to know whether there has been any important modification since then. If not, what is suggested to reduce the number of failures? Have we yet received the latest Delco coil and also the DeJon coil mentioned by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} in his note from America of the 6th December, and if so, when may we expect to receive a report on them?
