ORIGINAL. X8998 Copy to Mr. Hives. Derby. "CAMACHAHenry Royce's office in West Wittering". WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. CHICHESTER. 20th Nov. 1925. Messrs Barker & Co. Ltd. ATTENTION OF MAJOR DINGWALL. Dear Sirs, re. 7-EX. for Mr. Royce. X8770 There is a little mechanical testing to be done on this chassis before it finally leaves for France, and in order to avoid the delay of having to send it to Derby our Experimental Engineer suggests that if you could let him have the car for say two days before you give it its finish coat of varnish, that would suffice. It would also do away with the danger of your paintwork being damaged as it no doubt would do if you completely finished the car and we took it to our Works before bringing it down here. We would be glad if you would arrange therefore to let us know a day or two before the car will be ready for its test, when we will arrange for our man to take it to either Lillie Hall or Cricklewood to make the adjustments. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
