This simple test however is sufficient to show that with the present engine and type of carburetter used there does not seem much possibility of obtaining any appreciable power increase above standard by employing larger throats. If such were possible by the above method, it would interfere with the metering characteristics of the carburetter.

DISTRIBUTION.

Distribution was quite good at wide open throttle with the standard carburetter.

DIFFUSER JET CARBURETTER.

This was simply the standard type carburetter fitted with a diffuser high speed jet of the Claudel type. The free throat areas were the same as standard. The appended curves
