c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} 81487. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/AD. September 25th, 1931. The S.U. Carburetter Co. East Works, Bordesley Green Rd. Adderley Park, Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. Skinner. Dear Mr. Skinner, We are returning to you under separate cover the two S.U. down-draught carburetters which you were kind enough to lend to us for test purposes and also experimental needles in connection with them. We find these carburetters are rather small for our 25 HP. car, and in any case the down-draught type of carburetter does not seem to suit our arrangement of induction system very well. We are sending the carburetters back to you because you have been exceedingly good in lending us various carburetters and we do not want to retain more than we can usefully experiment with. We are awaiting with great interest the large carburetter for the 40/50 because on the whole we have had considerably the best results on the 25 HP. when using your single carburetter and we anticipate that the same results will follow with the larger unit. Can you let us have approximate dimensions of the large carburetter so that we can be making induction pipe? Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
