86033 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA. 17th February, 1934. Wykeham A.Robinson Esq., A.M.I.E.E. 100, Banbury Road, OXFORD. Dear Mr.Robinson, Following your visit to our Works last week and our subsequent discussion we have now given consideration to your schemes. With regard to the oil level indicator we regret that we have no immediate application for the idea. We also understand that this device is also marketed to order by Messrs.Smiths. The scheme is quite sound in principle and is the sort of thing we should probably adopt if there was, in our opinion, a necessity for the same. We thank you therefore for your trouble in demonstrating the idea, although as previously explained the scheme is not new to us, and we are arranging for the return to you of your sample apparatus under separate cover. With regard to the hydraulic bumper scheme we are also returning your drawing as we are not interested in the manufacture of bumpers. Again thanking you for your interest. We remain, Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
