CLUTCH AND BRAKE PEDAL FOR 'V' SERIES. X8470
Referring to your BJ6/H29.12.24. The following are replies to your questions :-
(a) With the pedals instructed for 'V' series, the clutch pressure will be 64 lbs.
(b) The clutch pedals instructed for 'W' series will be approximately 40 lbs. (We expect it to be lighter than the 40/50 HP.)
(c) At the present time the Works are already instructed and are producing the clutch pedals for 'V' series. These are well on the way. If these are not used on 'V' series they will have to be scrapped.
The Works are instructed for 'W' series pedals; these will give the lighter pressure.
(d) The brake pedal pressure on 'V' series and 'W' series will be the same as the present 40/50 HP. A new pedal is necessary because the method of supporting it has been altered.
We do not believe customers will tolerate a heavier clutch pedal pressure than our present 40/50 HP. The fact that the brake pedal pressure on the car is now so light shows up the clutch pedal pressure to an increased disadvantage.
We recommend that the Works are instructed to push on with 'W' series pedals as quickly as possible and if these can be got ready in time, they should be fitted to 'V' series cars, and the 'V' series pedals should be scrapped.
