X1280 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.21/JH. 29th June, 1936. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., Paul St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Works, Wolverhampton. For the attention of Mr. Southall. Dear Sirs, We have received a Phantom III oil cooler from yourselves, which was included in the batch of production oil coolers and marked as being constructed with high temperature solder. We are rather at a loss to understand this. Do you wish us to test this as a desirable alternative to the present type of cooler. The production people have of course handed this cooler over to the Exptl. Dept. We would mention that when we were making these coolers we tried a solder of this type, but did not gain appreciably with it. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
