contd:- -2- There should be little weight on the floating levers so that lifting pins should be about the same angle and (if convenient rather further out than pins for connecting rods. (SEE ORIGINAL FOR SKETCH) Do we not require some lubrication? Ball bearings may be required in cross bar to ensure freedom of release. I can see how we must have ample clearance not to catch the connecting rods. Lec.1361. is hardly well clear of the reverse one. I shew very deep boss to secure overhanging pin and use this to help clearance. My con. rods are well out and may require a little economy elsewhere. We must use the big angle of servo action for the brakes or the friction required is too much for other parts, and also load on the drive. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
