This car is very bad for chunking when taking up the drive and slow and medium running.

Quite 70% of the metallic noise comes from the driving shafts and driving pieces in the Hubs. The fit of the driving shaft splines and driving dogs can be cut down to a minimum but still a metallic noise can be heard. This is because there is no oil to damp out the metallic ring of the steel, and the brake drums amplify it. Also, being on the outside of the car, the noise is more noticeable. The binding effect of the differential is a possible cause of the rattle from the driving dogs.
