Proposing to produce only one sports saloon body for the Super Sports EAC.10 chassis initially, instead of three, to avoid potential waste from design modifications.

re. SUPER SPORTS EAC. 10. x7770 (struck through) x7830

With reference to BJ14/E7228., we do not think that we should rush in and produce 3 bodies for this chassis, since to begin with only 1 chassis will be put in hand. Should we modify the design of EAC.10. before producing any more chassis we would be liable to scrap the other 2 bodies. We want to get a body in hand for the first EAC.10. chassis, and we would like it to be a sports saloon. We feel that if we can make a success of a sports saloon body on this chassis which is up to R-R standard in every respect, there will be no difficulty in making a perfect production carriage with say a cab. de ville or enclosed limousine.

We would be glad if you would say whether you agree to this suggestion as we would like to put the body in hand. This body would be built with our special light system of construction. The standard bodies when they are required would be on our subframe. In all cases we can complete the bodies without sending the actual chassis to the coachbuilders, and there is no reason why the dummies used for the continental Phantom might not be modified by Derby to receive these bodies while they are at the coachbuilders.
