Over-winding may lead to injury, but with ordinary care it cannot arise. A stop to prevent over-winding comes into action after a lift of 4 1/4 inches has been attained. The "locking" effect can be distinctly felt, and any attempt to force the internal operating shaft still higher will cause damage. To lower the Jack always unwind with the handle. Don't try to free the ratchet catch (described in the booklet as the "instantaneous adjusting member") until the weight of the car has been completely taken off the Jack. We are anxious that every Rapson Jack user should be an enthusiastic admirer of this beautiful device, and will make good any defect which does not arise from neglect of our instructions.
