| S/W D/P Copies to LA{L. A. Archer} at W Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls} 261. s.s. Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}9/AH.3.1.38. Chassis B-144.LS - Raymond Mays D/BP/HFS/DP.31.12.37. We confirm that we shall arrange with K to supply and fit the standard horns. It is correct that at the time the chassis was allotted to Raymond Mays you were not specially told that the standard horns were required as well as the "Mellotone", but on the other hand you were not asked to omit the standard horns but rather to transfer to the new chassis the "Mellotone" horns fitted to the old one No.B-24.GA. Or, alternatively, to supply and fit new "Mellotone" horns to the new chassis - if to remove the old ones from B-24.GA would disfigure it. Apparently you decided to supply and fit new ones to the new chassis and left the old ones on B-24.GA It is only fair to say, however, that at that time we ourselves were unaware that the old car had the two pairs of horns fitted and it was only when the old car arrived in London and we noticed it to be fitted with the standard horns as well as the "Mellotone" that we realized Mr. Mays would expect the new car to be similarly equipped with two pairs of horns. Will LA{L. A. Archer} please note in reply to his LA{L. A. Archer}8/T.31.12.37, that we shall get K to take any action necessary in connection with the front apron and they will, of course, make any changes necessary to the wiring. Hn.{F. C.
