With reference to the question of the knock between the ends of the spring and the roller, which is said to arise on standard chassis, a suggestion for overcoming this difficulty is shewn on "N" scheme 633 of which we send herewith two blue prints. The wearing plate is made with a circular portion fitting closely between the roller, the spring itself being cleared away so as not to touch the roller at all. We have set this out and find that there is sufficient room for movement and we suggest that a piece should be made like this and tried.
