LEAMINGTON SPA.

(For the attention of Mr. Armitage.)

Dear Sirs,

With reference to our visit of yesterday when you pointed out that the 10" and 12" Long clutches would not have the covers machined on the outside diameter for jig location, we would be glad to know if location is made from the machined bore of the pressure plate when balancing the complete assembly, because, if so, we could locate off this bore when reaming the bolt holes.

If we are correct in this assumption, we would be glad to know what limit you propose for the diameter of this bore, and whether this location is used in balancing the 12" Long.

We thank you for your TS/AMS/EK of the 16th received this morning.

With regard to the driven plate for the 12" clutch, the actual design of this will have to be in abeyance until we have prepared a scheme to enable us to determine the position of the splines in relation to the facing, meanwhile, we are sending you a covering order for the two 12" assemblies.

Referring to the 10" C.F. assembly, with standard driven plate, we understand you would be prepared to supply this @ £2/15/- each, on the basis of 1000 units, with cover and levers imported, the remainder being made by you, with ground face to pressure plate and the cover rust proofed and enamelled, this including your tool cost of, approx., £110.
