REPORT ON TESTS OF COMPLETED CARS.

(1) The subframe centre support is often so low that it is impossible to get the bracket on the subframe resting upon it. The coachbuilders often weld a piece on the top of the "snug". We are not taking any action to improve the design of this as we are anticipating that HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will recommend the use of a rubber support at this point. We would like an early settlement of this question.

(2) The lining up of the body relative to the rear brake drums on both 25 HP. and 40/50. has been circularised as being essential. We have had one or two cars in which the inaccuracies in the chassis and the subframe are such that it has been impossible to do this. There has been no clearance between the subframe and the main frame on one side. We would be glad if Derby could tell us what they can do to avoid these occurrences.
