Derby. 26th May, 1937.

Dear Sirs,

BEVEL PINION BEARINGS GB.2680
ORDER NO.39400 - 26/4/37.

With reference to your valued communication of the 22nd inst. regarding the above, we note your remarks and while we shall be glad to make a modification to the 2.8330" diameter, we would like to point out that this diameter was specially included after full consideration of the job, and we are of the opinion that the original diameter should be retained for this.

We agree that on all previous bearings the outside diameter of the smaller of the outer rings has been approximately .015" smaller than the larger one, but for this later bearing it was decided in conjunction with Mr.Grylls that this clearance should be reduced to only .001", as this should be quite sufficient for the purpose of clearance and provides an advantage in the more close adherence to the central position when the job is mounted up.

We shall be glad, therefore, to have your further consideration of this matter, and will of course be pleased to fall in with your wishes after you have arrived at a decision. As you are no doubt aware, we are in production on these parts, and therefore we shall appreciate a reply as early as possible.

Yours faithfully,
RANSOME & MARLES BEARING CO. LTD.
