25/30 HP. and Wraith II Chassis.

We attach a list of the design work completed on the above chassis since our last report (E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP. 28.11.36) and also particulars of design work in hand.

25/30 HP. Chassis.

All the design work is completed and issued in connection with the application of the four port cylinder head. There is no other work in progress or anticipated on this chassis.

Wraith II Chassis.

Rear Axle.

A design has been issued providing stiffer rear axle shafts, to overcome clutch judders. The new centre axle casing having Wraith proportions instead of Phantom III with a consequent reduction in weight and with hypoid gears of greater offset is nearing completion.

Rearranged Engine.

Design work is well advanced on the rearranged engine which provides economies by deleting two timing gears. In addition a design is well advanced on flat bottomed tappets which we understand produce an appreciable saving in cost.

Miscellaneous.

Several other designs are completed or in hand which have for their object a reduction in the factory cost of this chassis. The cost estimates, as far as they are at present available have indicated several items which are considerably more costly than the 25/30 HP. chassis, and all these items are receiving urgent design attention, e.g. radiator, flywheel and clutch, gearbox.
