- 2 - Will you please let us have your recommended power curve and consumption for our Dynamometer test. We notice the consumption (pints per Hr.) is much higher on dynamometer test compared with present standard. [Handwritten: Please Reply.] Oil pressure fails when braking. Still has this trouble same as present standard. (2) STEERING. Exceptionally good considering the distance run. Light, free, stable, selective up to 60 m.p.h. (3) SPRINGING. Generally poor. Holds the road well but rather hard and dithers badly on rough roads. Feels like riding on hard tyres but pressure tested quite standard. The present standard 25 HP. have this tendency as complete new cars, and the only way improvements have been made is by dropping tyre pressures. (4) DYNAMO. Increased output. Consider good feature and necessary to meet present requirements. Recommend for standardising. (5) BRAKES. Foot brake very effective but inclined to "thump". Also the absence of the "clank" noise when releasing is a very good feature and standardising should be considered, also its application to Phantom II. [Signature: Agreed HP] [Signature: E.B.] EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} NOTE. In considering the above, it must be realised that R.{Sir Henry Royce} series of cars which are fitted with several of the modifications embodied in the above, are now on test and about to be put up for acceptance. Standardisation or Administration instructions will be required to clear. | ||
