Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Robotham, I was sorry to miss seeing you when I went to Derby recently but I gathered that you were on the loose in Paris! I have got my car back and it certainly is a very nice motor car and as a result of a run in it another Bentley has been bought. Touching the two points which were attended to, the brakes are certainly very much better but they still sing quite an attractive little tune from about 7 m.p.h. to rest. Last Sunday we had a lot of people to tea in the country and there were four Bentleys there and the drive was on a considerable slope and all four of them shrieked themselves to rest as they drew up to the accompaniment of very caustic remarks from non-Bentley owners! I am afraid the clonk from the back is no better, as the drive comes on and off it is still there to a very marked degree. I suppose it is my imagination but the engine seems sweeter and more powerful since the car was at Derby, did you do anything to it to account for this? I am very much obliged to you for the trouble you took over it and sorry that you were worried but as you were so good about it, I cannot promise not to come to you again if there is any particular help that one needs! Yours sincerely, G.R.N. Minchin | ||
