Messrs. The Dunlop Rim & Wheel Co.,
Coventry.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your design, C.D.S.785 showing a Dunlop 5 x 18 type N2 Wire Wheels, which it is proposed to test on the Phantom III chassis.

As far as the wheel is concerned it is quite satisfactory to us, but the clearance between the tyre and the end of the cross steering tube is insufficient, and it is desired to increase the front track of the car by .50".

We have shown on your print of C.D.S.785 herewith the rim moved out relative to the hub by .250" keeping the angularity of the spokes unaltered. This means that the spokes land on a different part of the well.

If you agree to this modification would you kindly let us know, and send us a revised design.

Yours faithfully,

For and on behalf of
ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
