-3- (4) cont'd:- It has been suggested that the cut-out is not necessary. I certainly subscribe to this in view of the trouble and doubtful advantage. I suggest it should only be put on as an extra fitting to the customer's order. (5) Squeaks from radiator mounting.- Lubrication of springs and washers cures, but doubtful if remain cured. (6) Wind noises from bodies.- This is very prevalent and I suggest requires Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s attention. (7) A definite clearance is required between the rear gear-box supporting cross member bolt and propeller shaft flange. A noise developed due to these bolts rubbing. The cross member is springy and a certain amount of movement appears to take place here, which must be allowed for. (8) Engine water drain tap must be definitely clear of the engine side guard. Want of clearance here caused the tap to open on road. (9) We are able to confirm that the engine gets "messed up" on muddy, wet roads. (10) Brakes.- The fact that the brakes are not working satisfactorily after washing until used a short time should be made clear to all owners on delivery. We have already had one returned to the works with brake complaint, which, according to evidence, we put down to this trouble. It is hardly a feature one would like to refer to in the Instruction Book, but even this may be considered advisable if properly explained. Note Exp. Dept. are aware of and have most of the above in hand, but consider no call for any change at present | ||
