To EFC. X5670 BY/RD6/11.4.6.27. BRUSH SPRING PRESSURES - 20 H.P. CHASSIS. It would be very convenient from a production point of view if we could use the Spring D.51150, - 12 ozs ± 2 pressure, control brush, for the main brushes on the dynamo and all four brushes on the starter motor. The poundage of D.51149 - Main Brush spring is 16 ± 3 ozs which overlaps D.51150 in the limits, so therefore we suggest that D.51150 be made common to all or failing that, an intermediate poundage, i.e. 14 ± 2 ozs be produced and used for both machines. It is interesting to note that on the Phantom dynamo we use the same spring for both main and control brushes i.e. 11 ozs. Will you kindly let us have your remarks on the above proposal. BY/ED.{J. L.
