X4021. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. Rg.{Mr Rowledge} EFC2/AD7.2.30. X.4021 X.3832 AERO MAGNETOS. With regard to your recent memo, concerning in particular, Watford aero magnetos, probably due to your having overlooked the fact that we are more directly conversant with the position of these machines, we did not receive a copy from you direct. The position in respect of Watford IS.12. magneto No.83132 is as follows :- This magneto is one of four Nos.83119/20 and 83132/3 recently brought up-to-date by Messrs.North at our instigation. Of these four machines only three were returned to us, one No.83133 having been required at Farnborough by Dr. Bairsto. The other one of that pair No.83132 we are using in this laboratory for the purpose of bench tests. At the moment, we are comparing its performance with a B.T.H. machine as we are of the opinion that we can here collaborate with Messrs.North materially to improve the performance and construction of these machines for our engine requirements.
