To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} } FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BJ. c. to LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} RG.{Mr Rowledge} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 43730 R2/M10.1.25. GOSHAWK WITH BODY SUBFRAME. X.4260 X.3730 There seems little doubt but that the fault complained of in this is chiefly due to the front supports being too far back from the dash. We must not expect much distance between the dash and the front supports. The subframe must be - (and probably is) stiff enough to carry the body if supported at the extreme ends. We shall be sure to get into trouble if we attempt too much. We must compromise between theoretical perfection and practical possibilities. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
