For the attention of Mr. West.
Dear Sirs,
In accordance with a promise made by our Mr. Sparkes, we are pleased to hand you the accompanying Reprint of a communication which you may have noticed already in the current number of the Institution Proceedings. The Reprint is easier to read than the original and you will notice that Figs. 1 and 2 are placed at the end to facilitate frequent reference to them. The work was carried out in our Laboratory under thoroughly practical conditions and will therefore, we trust, prove to be of more than theoretical interest.
Yours faithfully,
THE MORGAN CRUCIBLE COMPANY LTD.
