istic of carrying the load from the upper linkage by an enclosed helical spring combined with the damper.

Our proposal is in this way to build in the results of General Motors work and at the same time maintain something of the RR. individuality and appearance, as well as at the same time protecting the load carrying springs from the intrusion of mud and the effects of corrosion. The unsprung weight is also reduced compared with the Cadillac. With regard to the question of improving comfort by altering weight distribution we believe the SpectreCodename for Phantom III will be a definite improvement over Phantom II. The front axle is appreciably nearer the body and passengers and more underneath the front end weight.

Given the usual apportioning of chassis length to power plant and passengers the only means of improving K2/ab. is by shortening the wheelbase.

In the SpectreCodename for Phantom III both the numerator and denominator of this expression will be reduced but the net result we believe will be beneficial.
