Accompanied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} I have run this car 2,675 miles in France, Italy, and Belgium. The car is running remarkably well, and is in very good condition indeed considering the mileage. Engine. Smooth and free from periods. Starts up well cold and hot. Engine gears rattle. These were not free from rattle at commencement of mileage. Engine continues to fire after switching off when hot, and water temperature momentarily rises to 95-98°C. indicating hot spots in cylinder head. Detonations are noticeable unless a good quality spirit of 80 octane value is used. This is obtainable anywhere in France. (continued) | ||
