Breakages & Failures. (Re clearance in spring link bushes and spring eyes etc)

Mr Wormald.

With reference to Mr Royce's instructions contained in his note of August 22nd that all fibre bushes should be reamered out to the present standard of clearance, Mr Johnson writes as follows:-

"Is it not possible to send parts with illustrated pamphlet showing how to fit, and advise owners to take to our nearest agents if it cannot be done at home. If not let a man who knows how to do the job be placed at the disposal of each of our selling representatives (not one man to go from one to the other but every man contemporaneously in all districts, - not one man for all Midland Counties Garage Cos. districts but several men).
Tell agents we consider it is important that this alteration shall be made forthwith. Ask them to write to every owner pointing out that a man with new parts will be at such and such a place for a fortnight from such and such a date and will effect the change free of charge if owners will send their cars to that place. Say how long it will take.
In the meantime put in hand the necessary new parts and supply of jigs etc., and see to the training of men".
