- 2 - out certain alterations which should facilitate assembly. Finally, the question of costs was dealt with in detail and Mr. Sinnott was asked to prepare and submit estimates on the following lines :- (a). Cost of completely assembled frame, including the rear crossmember. (b). To quote separately for the following items :- Frame channels with all lightening holes. Side Plates with all lightening holes. Fitting distance pieces, etc. into side member. Fitting of dumbirons. Welding plate to sidemember and setting. Drilling all other necessary holes. Rear, second and battery crossmembers. Cruciform member complete. Assembly of complete frame and stretching. Separate cost of all pressings required in the manufacture of the complete frame. This quotation Mr. Sinnott agreed to let us have by Wednesday. Inpassing we discussed the question of alterations to dies, which are necessary for the thick frames, and it was made clear that we were very much opposed to the charge of £50 which they proposed to make for the work involved. Mr. Sinnott agreed to investigate this again and let us know the real reason why a figure of £50 should be quoted for a matter of machining about .030 off the sides of the dies.
