Technical note on increasing the critical speed of a Bensport crankshaft by modifying journal size and bearing shells.

X21T. FILES. 19.6.33. BENSPORT CRANKSHAFT. By increasing the journal size from 2.250 to 2.750 we should raise the critical speed 7% and should therefore be able to run up to 4800 instead of 4500. Reducing the thickness of the bearing shells locally, as on the large journal 40/50, to .030 metal the bearing cap studs must be spread .117 a side.
