To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EFC. EFC2/T12. 7.24. X.3035 X.3035 - BATTERY THERMOMETERS. We have just received the four thermometers asked for in our EFC1/T4.7.24. We think there is a mis-understanding in connection with these, as they are no more convenient for use for measuring the temperature of chassis battery electrolyte than an ordinary thermometer. Apparently these thermometers are for the purpose of taking the temperature of electrolyte in large open type cells, because being of flattened cross section, they will go down between the plates. We attach a cutting from one of Messrs. P & R's catalogues from which we originally decided that we ought to have thermometers as shown. We should be glad therefore if you would arrange for the return of these and the substitution of thermometers suitable for taking the temperature of electrolyte in ordinary chassis batteries. Will you also kindly note that two of these four thermometers should be charged to the Test Dept. and sent to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, or if you think fit, we can pass these on to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} after inspecting same, but we do not want to sign for all four under our own O/N. EFC. | ||
