COPY. AERONAUTICAL FINANCE AND INVESTMENT TRUST, LTD., 61, Cheapside, London, E.C.2. 27th April, 1932. Dear Lappin, I am sending you under separate cover, 4 samples of the "P.C." type clips which I spoke to you about. There are two of each type, those with the split pin being cheaper than the other type. They are made in various sizes for use on diameters from 1/2" to 4". I shall be pleased if you will have them tested by your people and shall be extremely interested to receive their report. This type of clip has been approved by the Air Ministry. Would you let me know also whether your firm would use this type, provided they were British made, and what their approximate consumption might be. If I find there is sufficient demand, I can commence manufacturing them in England in about 3 months, and I am certain that the price will be considerably lower than any existing British clips which have nearly as many advantages. I am much obliged to you for your assistance in this matter and if you should require any more clips, or any other lengths of band, please let me know. I will be glad if you will ask your people to follow the instructions for fitting very carefully, an overlap of about 1 1/2" should be used on large diameters and 1" on the smaller ones. Yours sincerely, (Signed) GERALD BOYES. Captain Lappin, Rolls-Royce, Ltd., 14, Conduit Street, London, W.1. | ||
