STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS. COMPLETED 14.10.32. Date 11.7.32. X No. 411 Drawing No. 3082 Description of Parts: BRAKE ON DYNAMO PINION 20/25 B.H.P. Origin: To facilitate the production of timing gears without rattles. Experimental Test Report: This reduces the low speed timing gear rattle and this has been confirmed by the test department. The high lift camshaft has made timing gears rather more critical. Road Test Report: Run 5,000 miles on 18.GIV. This is really a repetition of previous practice on the 25 HP. Running also on 17.GIV. and 16.GIV. Cost of Old Part. £1-13-6 Cost of New Part. £2-3-2 Difference per Car. £0-9-8 Increase Signature from Cost Dept. that above is correct. GRL 7/10/32. Sidgreaves - MD} R.{Sir Henry Royce} | 15.7.32 | Agreed FHR. very difficult to understand and believe that this is any good, I am very anxious that high lift cams should not spoil some of our R.R. qualities, all the other moves for greater power seem less dangerous than this item.
