X4118 X5410 Replying to CWBS/GM5.8.26. We tried Sir John Latta's car over our test route, comparing it with a 20 HP. which we consider represents a good standard car. We do not consider that under the condition in which we tried this car it was a bad sample of springing. It was slightly worse than our standard car. The actual spring deflection on our model car was slightly greater than on GCK-52. We have therefore suggested that the springs of this car should be reduced 50 lbs. all round. It would have been considerable assistance in this matter if we could have had some information as to the speed at which this car is principally driven. As it is Lady Latta's car however, we have concluded that it is used chiefly for shopping. We understand that the shock dampers required attention. Beyond trying these new springs and alteration to the dampers, we do not know of any way to [REDACTED] improve this car. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
