(7) The coil H.T. supply shall now be connected to a standard leaky gap (as specified for magneto work) and the speed limits for satisfactory operation noted (the distributor make ratio as above and standard ballast in series). (8) Ascertain the primary current consumption at 12 volts with varying speeds of the distributor (std.ballast in series and .55 make ratio). (9) The coil shall now be heated in a dry atmosphere at varying temperatures up to 120° C and the effect on the performance on a spark gap noted for each temperature. (10) An endurance test of 500 hours duration shall be carried out in the coil at 17.5 volts at normal speed on the standard rig. (11) The coil shall then be removed from its case and the windings examined. EFC. | ||
