X1245 W/P - Sr. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.18/JH. 26.10.36. We are sending you the top water pipes and bottom radiator tap, fitted with thermometer pockets, as arranged verbally with you. You will be able to use the normal car type of thermometer if these are obtainable, or our people at Chateauroux may be able to lend you some of the transmitting type of thermometers which we use. If not these can be obtained from Messrs. Negratti & Zambra Ltd., and are termed "Mercury in steel transmitting thermometers", range from 0°C - 160°C. As discussed you will determine the two outlet temperatures from the cylinder heads, the inlet temperature to the pump, the temperature at the rear of the cylinder head and the atmospheric temperature, under given set of running conditions, such as full throttle - 85 m.p.h. or some similar condition.
