Description of Parts.
Modification to rear axle to allow journal bearing to take the reverse thrust from the Gleason Bevel Pinion.

Origin.
Owing to failure on customers cars.

Experimental Test Report.
This is a scheme of modifying existing pieces to overcome the failure of the thrust bearing. This and other schemes are being tested to prove which is the most reliable. In the meantime we recommend any cars which are returned for the thrust bearing should be modified to this scheme.

Road Test Report.
Run 4100 miles on Drivers Demonstration Car. Run 40 hours on dynamometer and 1000 miles on the road. Examined and found in excellent condition. Tests are still being continued on four cars.

CHOICES:
A Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to customers.
B Scrap and replace on Chassis in works.
C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
D Use existing stock. Alteration effective on future Chassis.
