Other main brush positions give cutting-in speeds of from 805 to 840 rpm, peak outputs of from 13.3 to 14.0 amperes and 4000 rpm outputs of from 6.5 to 7.7 amperes.
The performance generally goes a good way to meeting our present requirements, the peak being about 3.0 amperes above the standard machine and cutting-in only 100 rpm higher. The output at high speeds however is still only 1 1/2 amperes higher. The fall is more rapid after the peak than in either the standard or high output machine. This might perhaps be attributed to improvement in the magnetic circuit.
