To: Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} (Mr. Haldenby) Date: 23/5/13 Re: Body Work. Reference: X393 [Typed Memo from 'Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'] One of our body makers has been asking us whether it is necessary to allow clearance for Parson non-skid chains on the front wheels, because if not they can considerably improve the design of the front wings, at the same time making them more efficient. Will you kindly let us have your opinion re same. p. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} [Handwritten Reply from 'Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}'] Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 23.5.13. We should have this clearance. Parsons chains are not often necessary but when they are wanted they are wanted badly. Also if a tyre has to be changed on a front wheel this extra clearance is desirable.
