To. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} 600a CHATEAUROUX I/12.2.38. 26.G.VI. - 25/30 HP. Pedals, Gear Lever & Engine Mounting. Will you please send us two yoke ends as fitted to the rod between the brake pedal and servo countershaft. We have fitted cable in place of rod in the existing yokes to try and reduce the pedal vibration, and now require the two extra yokes so that we can quickly change from rod to cable to get a better comparison. With the cable in use, we have a rubber off stop for the pedal and the cable just slack in the off position. We have also replaced the stay between the cantilever pedal shaft and the crankcase, by a cable consisting of 35 strands of .024" dia. wire, and one central strand .037" dia. purchased locally. The ends are sweated into connecting pieces bolted up solid so they cannot rattle. The rubber pads and tube between the gearbox and the gate on the frame, concentric with the change speed lever tube, shows promise. It is however a very crude affair and we cannot get a real value from it in its present state. We give herewith a rough diagramatic sketch of what is required. Could you get a design and parts produced for trial, and send a set out to us ? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Ivanh. Waller. | ||
