Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. West, Mr. Sidgreaves lent me a Phantom III for a few days and what a wonderful car it is! I was a little alarmed to see that when you first switched on, before the starter was operated, there was already a discharge of nearly 8 amperes and counting the various things that there were on the car, horn, windscreen wipers, stop lights, all sorts of fog and interior lights etc. etc., the total discharge must be nearer 30 amperes than 20. Are you quite happy about the size of the battery especially for town cars standing about and not getting much charging and then called upon to start a cold engine and I expect that engine takes some starting? Yours sincerely, G R Minchin | ||
