2. AR/SH1/C22413. It is remarkable I think how the other parts of the car have stood up during this test, it has been running for about three weeks and we have broken 25 pairs of pivots on the track, yet the total breakages are, two top leaves of front springs (experimental heat treated at Derby) 4 bottom leaves standard springs, 3 bolts sheared holding leaves together, 2 springs inside steering rod broken, one steering arm. We had a good deal of trouble with the bolts working out of the side guards and bonnet strips, the heads would work right through the aluminium, this is a common complaint. | ||
