Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr.Child.

Dear Sirs,

We have pleasure in confirming our telephonic conversation in further reference to your letter of the 16th of last month with which you returned a headlamp for special examination.

As intimated it was found there was a definite looseness of the rim in relation to the body, and we have discovered several cases of this kind which of course have since been corrected for production purposes. To deal with instances in service we have found that this can be cured by fitting a slightly larger rubber ring which is in effect equivalent to the step taken by you of fitting an additional thin rubber band. We feel that this lamp when returned to you will be found quite satisfactory in this respect.

As arranged we are also having the lamp renovated, and it will be returned to you fitted with one of our latest "OS" type masks which will dispose of the present rather unsatisfactory masking arrangement on this lamp as received by us.

The Windtone Horns also returned to us are under-going repair, and they will be returned to you as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,
JOSEPH LUCAS LTD.

Technical Sales Department.
