I hope I am mistaken, but I hear that no progress has been made in taking advantage of the ease in which the coil can be fitted near the distributor and also the use of an insulated tube or trough for supporting the high tension conductors (instead of the earthed iron tube we are at present fitting.)

It is imperative for these faults to be put right quickly. There is not the slightest excuse for this particular one delaying output, and this modification should also be embodied in the next car which is going the 10,000 miles trial.

In the meantime I hope BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will see that no more material is being ordered to the old arrangement than is absolutely necessary.

You will remember that ever since the Armistice and the introduction of the non-trembler ignition I have been endeavouring to do away with the scraggy look of the separated wires entering the distributor, but can-not do so through one obstruction or another.

The present arrangement was being used be-cause the materials were in stock for a certain number of cars. The latest arrangement is still more desirable because it is more efficient as well, or less ugly, and I think is quite easy to apply.
