1109. Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}7/MH.{M. Huckerby} 13th. July, 1939. The Morse Chain Co. Ltd., Letchworth, HERTS. Dear Sirs, You have recently supplied us with a chain for driving the camshaft from the crank on one of our experimental engines. Enclosed herewith is an arrangement drawing of the chain (ECD.534) and before starting on any extensive tests would like to know if the chain we are using is representative of your latest product in respect of anti-stretch, wear and noise etc. We understand that the "Non-bend back" chain possesses some advantages and would like to know whether the chain supplied is of this type. Actually, we should be pleased to see one of your representatives to discuss the job at your earliest convenience. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
