X.3612 Sft{Mr Swift}1. from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Sft.{Mr Swift} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Gleason Bevel Gears. I am in receipt of yours EWT10/G10.8.20 and documents attached thereto. I must again draw your attention to the letter ref.- Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}10/NJ19720, which we addressed to Rolls-Royce of America Inc. on the 19th ult. in which we stated that we considered it essential that the sets of bevels and pinions which were then ready should be tested out here before the remainder of the 500 sets for Derby are taken in hand. I have consulted By and he is still of opinion that it is essential that a certain number of these bevels and pinions be tested out here before the remainder are proceeded with and I consider you should inform R.R. of A.{Mr Adams} Inc. that our request must be acceded to, or they must take the responsibility of having the remainder of the 500 sets of bevels and pinions left on their hands. This also replies to Sft{Mr Swift}1/M9.8.20. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RECEIVED AUG 12 1920 Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} | ||
